Niagara County, NY —Niagara Wine Trail, USA, along with Flint Mine Press, announced the release of the premier issue of NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE, a twice-yearly regional publication promoting the wines, craft beverages, wineries, and winemakers of the Niagara Wine Trail USA.

The Niagara USA wine region, nestled between the Niagara Escarpment and Lake Ontario in Western New York, is rich with grape-growing and wine making history, and is one of the fastest-growing wine regions in New York State. The wine trail currently features seventeen member wineries, each offering a unique take on a wide variety of wines and ciders.

“NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE is the perfect vehicle to attract wine enthusiasts to the Niagara region, and to delve into what sets our wine making styles apart from other areas,” says Niagara USA Wine Trail president, Oscar Vizcarra. “We could not think of a better way to showcase this extraordinary and ‘up and coming’ region than with the publication of this magazine.”

NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE is published by Flint Mine Press. Founders Bob Bedford and Linda Pierro are long-time advocates of the craft beverage industry in New York, and are the publishers of Hudson Valley Wine Magazine, the award-winning, regional wine magazine, now in its sixth year.

“We are pleased to present this new and invaluable reference guide to the Niagara Wine Trail USA,” notes Bob Bedford, president of Flint Mine Press. “Producers here have the ability to grow quality fruit to create world-class, award-winning wines, including vinifera and late harvest dessert wines. NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE will spread awareness of the quality wines and producers in this region.”

Each issue of NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE profiles the Niagara USA Wine Trail’s seventeen wineries and cider producers, and offers informative, entertaining columns by local, prominent food and wine experts. The feature story in the premier issue, Destination: Niagara Wine Trail USA, is a fresh exploration of the region’s wine, food and must-see attractions by wine expert, educator, and travel blogger Wendy Crispell.

Other highlights include:

  • Beyond the Bottle – A look at grape growing and winemaking in the region, by winemaker and expert Bryan Calandrelli. In the premier issue Bryan discusses Growing with Vinifera.
  • The Convivial Table – A wine and food pairing column that teams Western New York chefs and sommeliers with food writer Christa Glennie Seychew. Pairing Niagara’s Cab Francs is the subject in this issue.
  • The Finish – The region’s fall harvest season is explored by renowned local writer Teresa Sharp.

Contents of every NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE will also include: The Essentials, pertinent, at-a-glance information for visiting each winery location; Seedlings, featuring new wine-related and local, artisanal products; a map of the wine trail region; and listings of upcoming wine events and other important resources.

“With the Niagara USA Wine Trail’s recent expansion connecting wineries in Buffalo, Niagara, and Rochester, this is an exciting time for Western New York,” states Linda Pierro, Managing Editor. “People passionate about wine and food—whether they’re first-time visitors or longtime residents—will find NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE an invaluable resource.”

NIAGARA USA WINE MAGAZINE is published twice-yearly and is available free of charge, with distribution throughout Buffalo, Niagara, Rochester, and other well-known tourist destinations in New York.
