Niagara County, NY – The Niagara Wine Trail is pleased to announce that member wineries were again awarded at the 2013 New York Wine & Food Classic. Over 875 New York State wines, ciders and spirits competed against one another at the annual Watkins Glen, NY event.

Resulting from the competition, Niagara Wine Trail wineries were honored with a number of Double Gold, Silver and Bronze awards. Two of the Niagara Wine Trail wineries were awarded with nine (9) total medals.

Awarded wineries include Leonard Oakes Estate Winery’s Double Gold Award for their 2012 Reserve Riesling, Silver awards for Leonard Oakes’ 2012 Chardonnay, 2011 Vidal Blanc Ice Wine, 2010 Meritage Reserve, and a Bronze award for their Steampunk Cider.

Schulze Vineyard & Winery was also awarded Silver for their Old Barn Red (Unoaked) and Bronze awards for their 2011 Siegfried Reserve Estate, 2011 Meritage Estate Grown, and 2010 RCR Red Dessert Wine Estate Grown.
