Niagara County, NY – The Niagara Wine Trail is celebrating the arrival of spring with the Taste of the Trail event. Taking place over two weekends, participants can taste a different food sample paired perfectly with a wine at each winery. The Taste of the Trail Event weekends are April 10 – 12th and April 17 – 19th. Hours for both weekends are Friday 12pm-5pm, Saturday 10am-5pm, Sunday 12pm-5pm.

Event tickets for a single weekend are $20/person in advance online or $25/person at wineries during the event. Guests can also purchase a pass for both weekends at $35/person in advance online or $40/person at wineries. Tickets include a tasting of 3 wines and one sample of cuisine at 11 wineries each weekend, and a commemorative wine glass from your first winery. The winery participation and food pairing over both weekends are as follows:

April 10th – 12th Participating Wineries:

  • 810 Meadworks: Prosciutto & melon skewers paired with the Royal Squeeze (mango mead)
  • Arrowhead Spring Vineyards: D’Avolio olive oils paired with our wines
  • Eveningside Vineyards: A dessert of our own creation
  • Flight of Five Winery: Mediterranean Dip (with pita chips and veggies for dipping)
  • Freedom Run Winery: TBD
  • Lake Ontario Winery: Bacon wrapped Filet Mignon Bites paired with our red wines
  • Leonard Oakes Estate Winery: Beef Stew
  • Salamaca Winery: Dark chocolate fondue with coconut and toasted hazelnuts over strawberries paired with Frontenac
  • Schwenk Wine Cellars: Serving a soup paired with wine
  • Spring Lake Winery: Our wine ice cream paired with Pink Minx
  • Vizcarra Vineyards: TBD

  • A Gust of Sun Winery: Pairing with The Great Foodini food truck
  • BlackBird Cider Works: Serving a savory Greek Couscous Salad paired with our Organic Oak Barrel Aged Dry Cider
  • Black Willow Winery: Chicken salad on a crispy wonton
  • Chateau Niagara Winery: TBD
  • Honeymoon Trail Winery: TBD
  • Long Cliff Winery & Vineyards: Pairing with Garlock’s restaurant
  • Midnight Run Wine Cellars: Coconut Curry Chicken over Jasmine Rice paired with Vidal Blanc
  • Niagara Landing Wine Cellars: Serving a selection of Tapas with our own Ruby Sangria
  • The Winery at Marjim Manor: Overnight French Toast with Apples, paired with Marjim Manor Mimosa or our Applely Ever After wine
  • Schulze Vineyards & Winery: Roasted local potato salad with feta from Cream & Sugar Cafe in Lockport, NY. Suggested paired wines are Dry: Chardonnay Reserve, Semi: Lakehouse Red, Sweet: Ruby
  • Victorianbourg Wine Estate: Pairing with The Red Coach Inn & Restaurant

Event attendees are welcome to visit different wineries each day in any order they choose. As a reminder, ticket prices do not include applicable sales tax or transportation. Guests touring by bus or limo, regardless of size, should call the wineries in advance to make an appointment to alleviate congestion during this popular event. A valid photo ID with proof of age is also required to participate in wine tasting.
